Junior Engineering Geologist - Kent £27,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience)
A growing geotechnical and geoenvironmental consultancy are looking to appoint a Junior Engineering Geologist to join their Kent team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career geologist to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of ground investigation projects.
The Role
As a Junior Engineering Geologist, you will support the delivery of ground investigation projects across residential, commercial, and infrastructure schemes. You will gain exposure to both site-based work and office-based reporting, developing strong technical and practical skills within a supportive team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with site investigations including trial pitting, borehole logging, and sampling
* Supporting engineers and senior geologists on ground investigation projects
* Logging soil and rock in accordance with BS5930 standards
* Carrying out basic geotechnical and geological data analysis
* Assisting in the preparation of factual reports
* Supporting desk studies and site walkovers
* Ensuring health & safety procedures are followed on site at all times
About You
* Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Earth Sciences or a related subject
* Strong interest in ground investigation and geotechnical engineering
* Willingness to work both on site and in the office
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Full UK driving licence (or working towards obtaining one)
* Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to develop professionally
