Head of Organisational Sustainability
London | Hybrid | Flexible Working Options
Our client, a highly respected organisation within the financial services sector, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Organisational Sustainability to shape and lead its enterprise-wide sustainability approach.
This is a senior leadership position for someone who can set clear principles, define measurable targets, and drive impactful change across environmental, social and governance priorities.
The Role
You will develop a cohesive Sustainability strategy that embeds responsible practices across the organisation. Working alongside senior leadership and cross-functional teams, you will ensure sustainability goals translate into meaningful actions, cultural alignment, transparent reporting and measurable progress.
You will also lead a small team, including a DE&I specialist, integrating ongoing progress in diversity, equity and inclusion into the broader sustainability vision.
This role reports directly into the Chief People Officer.
Essential Skills & Experience
We are looking for a candidate with:
* Deep sustainability expertise, including social and community impact assessment, climate-change mitigation and relevant regulatory knowledge — ideally gained within or closely alongside the financial services sector.
* Strong experience delivering enterprise-level strategic change, with the ability to influence, engage and partner with senior stakeholders.
* Proven leadership capability, with the confidence to set clear priorities, create collaborative environments and guide teams through complex change.
* Excellent communication skills, enabling you to build alignment, inspire action, and help shape organisational culture.
If you don’t meet every requirement, you are still encouraged to apply — potential is valued as highly as experience, and training support is available.
Flexible Working
Our client embraces agile working. Options may include:
* Hybrid working (approximately one to two days per week in the London office)
* Adjusted or reduced working hours
* Compressed hours
* Job shares
Why This Role Matters
This position will be instrumental in establishing a clear organisational viewpoint on sustainability, shaping principles, setting targets and influencing culture across all teams. It’s an opportunity to drive genuine environmental and social impact across a significant UK organisation.
