Working within an innovative supported accommodation service, you’ll help build strong therapeutic relationships and support clients to develop skills, resilience and confidence to move forward positively.Key responsibilities include:Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients at all times, using safeguarding and emergency procedures when requiredBuilding positive and trusting relationships with young people to provide effective supportManaging a small caseload as a named key worker, creating SMART outcomes-based support plansLeading on risk and needs assessments and contributing to service-wide assessmentsDelivering one-to-one and group support to build coping strategies and resilienceWorking closely with statutory services, mental health teams and housing providersEncouraging client participation in service decisions and wider community activitiesSupporting volunteers who add value to the serviceParticipating in a rota including early, late and weekend shiftsAbout youWe’re looking for someone with empathy, energy and a genuine commitment to supporting young people with complex needs.You will have:A relevant qualification (psychology, counselling, social work, mental health) or significant experience working with young people with complex needsExperience managing challenging situations in a calm and professional wayExcellent listening, communication and relationship-building skillsA non-judgmental approach and the ability to maintain professional boundariesA good understanding of safeguarding, support planning and risk assessmentsThe ability to work well in a team and with external partnersA commitment to equality, diversity and inclusionAn enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.About the organisationThis well-established charity provides housing and support services across the UK, with a focus on preventing homelessness and improving opportunities through education, training and volunteering.
