Ink Technician Location : Haslingden Hourly Rate: £14 - £16 an hour dependent on experience We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Print Team as the Ink Technician. This role is responsible for ensuring that high quality of inks is made and maintained and that your role is conducted in a safe and controlled manner in line with the required standards and operating procedures. You will be responsible for understanding the requirements on colour specification and ensuring that they are met to the highest possible standard. You will be responsible for the whole Ink area and leave any instructions for the Pre-Press team on further requirements. Key responsibilities for the role are as below: Operate in line with site health and safety, environmental and quality standards including BRC, ISO & environmental. Make and prepare all inks for production to within 1 delta against standards and anilox strengths. Process Press Returns back into stock to be reworked. Log press returns back into the system for future use. Maintain a clean, safe working environment, ensuring that all spills are logged and cleaned immediately. Maximise the use of press returns by ensuring that press returns are always used before virgin ink. Manage activity via the IFS programme, ensuring there is enough ink to complete an order, minimising top up requirements to maximise production time. Make full use of the eXact spectro, IFS and IQC, to reduce press downtime to a minimum. Assist the Printers on press should any minor adjustments be required, also performing random visco checks throughout the day. Assist the Pre Press Coordinator with other duties as and when required. Specifically, help with the offloading of ink deliveries and support stock takes and re-ordering of ink supplies and solvents. Contribute to site continuous improvement projects. A reasonable level of fitness is required as the role involves some physical activity e.g. lifting & bending, and involving working in outdoor conditions. Skills, Qualification. Fork Lift Truck licence preferable but training will be provided. X-rite equipment trained. Colour matching experience. IFS and IQC experience preferrable. Basic Computer Skills. The site operates a 24/5 shift system spread over three-week pattern. The Ink Technician role will be 06:45am to 16:30pm Monday to Friday. Shift patterns can be subject to change, dependant on business requirements.
