Job Description
This established manufacturing company has a rich heritage of providing specialist solutions and bespoke services to their clients. Operating across several divisions they have recently been acquired by a European Group and are now receiving significant investment. Two of the divisions are growing quickly and have been identified as requiring closer financial management so there is now a need to recruit a Financial Controller capable of looking after a combined turnover of £30m. This will be a high profile role within the business as they have recently secured a large contract which will enable them to develop more sustainable and cost-effective products that will keep them ahead of the competition.
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller and with regular exposure to the CFO and SMT this role requires someone with strong operational experience who would be comfortable acting as a Finance Business Partner to non-finance managers in both divisions. The ideal candidate would preferably have manufacturing experience, strong analysis skills and the ability to prepare and present financial information to key stakeholders throughout the business. You will be supervising a small finance team and should be a confident manager able to develop and motivate the people around you. The main responsibilities of this role will be:
* Attending weekly sales operations meetings to discuss performance and present forecasts
* Manage the audit for both divisions and support Group FC with statutory reporting
* Prepare information and analysis for the board packs and group reporting deck
* Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Prepare detailed management accounts, financial statements, and reports.
* Lead divisional budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
* Maintain robust financial controls and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
* Support decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis.
* Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive strategic initiatives.
* Manage cash flow, payroll, and other operational finance tasks.
* Oversee and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative working environment.
The successful applicant:
* Will be a CIMA / ACCA or ACA qualified accountant looking for a challenging role offering a wide range of experience. You should ideally have a background as a Financial Controller, Finance Business Partner or Senior Management Accountant.
* Must have a hands-on approach and the ability to handle both strategic and operational tasks, with exceptional problem solving and organisational skills
* Excellent Excel knowledge, able to maintain and develop complex models
* Confident user of ERP and business management systems.
