Job summary
Quarry Bank Medical Centre, part of the Brierley Hill & Amblecote PCN, is seeking an experienced and confident Nurse Practitioner (V300) to join our friendly and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician with a strong background in urgent care, walk-in centres or A&E to transition into a supportive, well-structured primary care environment.
Were looking for someone who thrives in a see-and-treat setting, capable of working autonomously to assess, diagnose, and manage minor illnesses and acute presentations. You will be trusted to use your clinical judgement and prescribing skills to deliver safe, timely care while being supported by an experienced team of GPs, nurses, and wider PCN colleagues.
If you value autonomy in your practice, want to be part of a patient-centred team, and are looking for a role that makes the most of your urgent care expertise without the pressure of high-intensity hospital work, this could be the perfect fit. Minor illness training is available if needed, and flexible working can be considered. We prioritise staff wellbeing and invest in the development of our team. Come and make a difference where your skills are respected, and your voice is heard.
Main duties of the job
As a Nurse Practitioner at Quarry Bank Medical Centre, your role will centre on delivering high-quality, same-day care to patients presenting with minor illness and acute conditions. Youll operate as a see-and-treat clinician, working autonomously to assess, diagnose, manage and prescribe for a wide range of presentations within your competence.
Youll manage your own clinic list, seeing patients independently with the support of the GP team available when needed. The role is ideally suited to someone who is confident in clinical decision-making and experienced in fast-paced environments such as urgent care, A&E or walk-in centres.
You may be involved in face-to-face assessments, telephone consultations, and on occasion, home visits depending on your preference and experience. While this is not an advanced role requiring chronic disease management, you will be expected to demonstrate safe practice, appropriate escalation, and contribute positively to patient flow and access.
We will support additional training (e.g. minor illness) if required for the right candidate. Youll be part of a collaborative team that values open communication, flexibility, and professional development.
About us
We are a dedicated and supportive organisation committed to delivering high-quality services in a safe, professional, and inclusive environment. We are proud to offer a welcoming atmosphere, opportunities for training and career progression, and a strong commitment to staff well-being. By joining us, you will become part of a team that is passionate about making a difference every day, delivering excellent service, and supporting the health and well-being of our community.
