Job Title: Head of Bid Estimating
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid – 3 days on-site per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Bid Estimating to join a leading organisation operating in the Aerospace and Defence sector. This role will play a critical part in delivering high-value, complex bids by leading the estimating, costing and financial modelling process from early bid development through to submission and negotiation.
Based in Glasgow with a hybrid working model (3 days on-site per week), the successful candidate will report into the Head of Contracts and lead a small team focused on providing strategic financial insight and modelling expertise across bids and proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the coordination, creation, and presentation of cost, estimating and pricing data for major bids and proposals.
* Develop and deliver detailed financial models, covering cost, overheads, margin, profitability, funding and cash flow.
* Present clear and accurate financial information during internal bid reviews and approvals.
* Continuously improve costing, estimating and pricing methodologies, tools and processes.
* Support or lead negotiations under the Single Source Pricing Regulations (SSPR) with UK MOD.
* Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including international customers.
Candidate Profile:
* Proven experience in a high-paced bidding environment, ideally within Aerospace, Defence, or similar regulated industries.
* Track record in costing and pricing bids over £100M.
* Strong financial modelling and numerical analysis skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management, especially under tight deadlines.
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
* Confident in advising senior leadership on commercial and financial implications of bid strategies.
* Familiarity with UK MOD procurement and assurance processes, including SSPR.
* Skilled in tools such as Excel, ProPricer, TruePlanning, Primavera, or equivalent.
