Cambridge University Association Football Club (CUAFC) Women’s side is a growing and ambitious club with three teams. Our 1st team competes in BUCS Midlands Tier 1, while our 2nd team, following an immediate promotion in their debut BUCS season, now plays in Midlands Tier 3. We maintain squad fluidity between the teams to allow for player progression and team success. The team also plays in cup competitions as well as the annual Varsity Match against Oxford, a key highlight of the season. The squad consists of around 21 players who bring a positive attitude, strong commitment, and great team spirit. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Football Coach for our 2nd team to lead and develop our University Football club. Job Purpose: To provide high-quality coaching to students of varying ability, fostering skill development, fitness, and competitive performance in football while ensuring a safe and inclusive training environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and structured football training sessions for students of varying skill levels.

• Develop individual and team performance strategies, including technical, tactical, and physical conditioning.

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including risk assessments and injury prevention measures.

• Prepare students for university competitions, BUCS fixtures, Varsity and other relevant events.

• Provide mentorship and motivation to students, fostering a positive and disciplined training culture.

• Maintain equipment and ensure proper usage during training sessions.

• Collaborate with university sports staff and club committee members to align training with club objectives.

• Uphold health and safety, safeguarding and inclusivity standards, ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants.

• Adhere to club policies and procedures.

• Stay up to date with coaching best practices and relevant qualifications.

Person Specification:

• Recognised football coaching qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or higher).

• Experience coaching football to young adults or university-level athletes.

• Strong communication, motivational and leadership skills.

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in sports coaching.

• Ability to plan and deliver progressive training programs.

• Commitment to inclusivity and student development.

• Experience coaching competitive university teams.

• A track record of increasing participation and retention of members.

• A valid first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
