Job Title:Technical Assistant Work Location:Jubilee Mill, Murton, York, YO19 5UT Hours of work:37.5 per week, 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday. Some flexibility in working hours is required to meet business needs. Driving Licence Required:Full UK driving licence. Job Purpose of Technical Assistant To provide administrative and technical support to the Technical Department, assisting with quality control, compliance, documentation, systems management and customer support activities to ensure feed manufactured remains safe, compliant and fit for purpose. Job Tasks for Technical Assistant Item manipulations and set ups (raw materials, WIP, additives and finished products) within all company operating systems. Support new product and raw material set-up within ERP systems. Maintain the controlled document register (procedures, work instructions, HACCP documentation). Assist in feed safety investigations through data gathering, fact finding and traceability. Support complaint investigations and admin including traceability and documentation of findings. Ensure declaration labels remain up to date in line with current legislation (under supervision). Respond to routine customer and sales technical enquiries, escalating complex matters appropriately. Working alongside nutrition to develop product understanding during reformulation process. Supporting customer services department (e.g. item set ups, additive links, customer queries). Assist the laboratory function with product queries and data collation. Prepare monthly technical performance summaries for review. Import and maintain approved formulations within company operating systems (D365 and associated systems). Ideally you will have the following qualifications and experience: Degree (or studying towards) in science, agriculture, food, animal science or similar. Proficient with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Experience within FMCG or manufacturing. Experience using D365 or similar systems.
