Innova Search is proud to be partnering with a well-established and rapidly growing engineering manufacturer based in West Yorkshire. We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to take ownership of procurement activities across three group companies, working from the business's site in Brighouse.
This is a key role within the organisation, reporting directly to the senior leadership team and overseeing a small purchasing function. As Purchasing Manager, you'll be responsible for sourcing raw materials, CNC machined parts, and soft goods on a global scale—ensuring optimal price, lead time, and quality.
An understanding of CNC machining (milling and turning) will be a significant advantage, particularly for candidates who have developed from a shopfloor environment into a commercial or procurement-focused position. Experience in estimating and cost control will also be vital, as procurement has a direct and measurable impact on the company’s bottom line.
The ideal candidate will be analytical, commercially astute, and confident in supplier negotiations. A high level of Excel proficiency is essential, along with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
While this is a demanding role, full product training will be provided, and the team fosters a collaborative environment with a strong culture of knowledge sharing.
What We’re Looking For:
* Essential Skills & Experience:
* Demonstrable success in procurement, cost management, and MRP control
* Strong understanding of CNC machining (milling and turning)
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Organised and process-driven, with a modern approach to procurement
* Confident communicator with a "can-do" attitude
* Proactive in problem-solving
* Full UK driving licence
* Must be able to commute to Brighouse (HD6)
Highly Desirable:
* Degree or CIPS qualified, or 5+ years in a comparable purchasing role within oil & gas or precision engineering
* At least 3 years’ management experience
* Familiarity with valves and valve components
* Knowledge of raw materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, duplex, and nickel alloys
Additional Information:
* Overseas supplier visits may be required
* This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and hands-on professional looking to make a tangible impact within a growing organisation
Hours of Work:
* Monday to Thursday: 8.00am - 4.45pm; Friday: 8.00am - 1.30pm
* Total: 38.5 hours per week
Benefits:
* 33 days annual leave (inclusive of statutory and flexible leave plus end-of-year shutdown)
* Company pension scheme (auto-enrolment)
* Free onsite parking
* Early finish on Fridays
* Health and wellbeing programme (after 6 months’ service)
* Cycle to work scheme
If you’re ready to take the next step in your purchasing career and want to work in a supportive, forward-thinking business with real potential for influence and growth—we’d love to hear from you.
