Teaching Assistant
Location: Caldicot, Monmouthshire (easily accessible from Newport, Chepstow & surrounding areas)
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Teaching Assistant to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a busy and supportive secondary school environment.
You’ll be working closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored learning support—particularly for students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). Previous ALN experience, whether personal or professional, is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students aged 11–16 in lessons and small group interventions
* Provide 1:1 support to pupils with ALN, autism, ADHD, and other learning differences
* Help manage classroom behaviour and engagement
* Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
What We're Looking For:
* Experience working in education or youth support settings
* ALN support experience (personal or professional) is a strong advantage
* Positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young people
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Relevant training or qualifications (desirable but not essential)
Ideal For:

* Parents or carers with personal experience of ALN
* Anyone passionate about education and supporting young learners
Requirements
* Enhanced child’s DBS and update service registration (or willing to apply)
* EWC Registration (or willing to apply)
* Able to provide 2 most recent references covering 24 months.
* Up to date safeguarding (provided by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
