Overview

We are offering a unique and exciting opportunity to establish and lead a Radiographer-Led Cardiac CT Service within our Imaging Department. This senior role is ideal for an experienced Radiographer with a strong background in cardiac CT, NHS experience, and proven leadership in clinical practice.

You will develop and manage the newly formed Radiographer-Led Cardiac CT service, ensuring high standards of care and clinical excellence. You will work with Cardiothoracic Radiologists, Cardiologists, and service Superintendents to lead service delivery, radiographer training, and protocol development.


Location and Scope

Based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) and the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH). You will oversee operations across eight CT scanners (including Siemens X.ceed, Siemens Drive, Aquilion One Prism, GE Revolution, and Canon Prime SP). Cardiac CT scanning is currently performed on the Aquilion One Prism and GE Rev systems.


Role and Responsibilities

* Be one of five operational Superintendent Radiographers, responsible for the day-to-day management of the CT service and line management within the department.
* Lead the setup and delivery of a Radiographer-Led Cardiac CT service, including medicine administration for heart rate control and vasodilation and image acquisition.
* Participate in administration of cardiac medications and ECG interpretation to enable independent scanning of a broad patient cohort.
* Contribute to staff training, service development, and protocol standardisation in collaboration with clinical colleagues.
* Work in our Imaging facility in the Louisa Martindale Building (opened May 2023).

Essential Qualifications and Experience

* 3 years post-graduate experience in cardiac CT
* Experience of line management
* Understanding of PGDs
* NHS experience


Desirable

* Recognised cardiac CT qualification
* PgC/PgD/Masters in CT
* Experience setting up new imaging services
* Experience in policy writing
