Overview

Applications are invited for a Fixed term Senior Clinical Fellow post in the Dermatology Department at NNUHFT and Cromer Hospital. This is a full time post, to start as soon as possible. It will involve general dermatology, skin lesion/cancer clinics, minor surgery/daycase list, and an opportunity to train within Dermatology. This post is designed for a doctor looking to gain further experience and a career in dermatology. The post is for 6 months, with the possibility of extension. It is based at the NNUHFT and Cromer Hospital and involves 10 sessions, with 6-7 outpatient clinics. Dermatology does not have dedicated inpatient beds but patients may be on other wards.

The post involves working with Core trainees in looking after inpatients. The clinical fellows are on a regular on-call rota with ST3+ residents (once a week on emergency bleep between 8am-7pm on weekdays/bank holidays) and non-residential on call over weekends, dealing with calls from GPs, ward patients and A&E. The department is involved in teaching undergraduate medical students for the University of East Anglia, with duties including bedside teaching, seminars, and helping organise the student timetable and teaching sessions. Fellows are expected to attend the weekly skin MDT meeting and may have opportunities to attend dermatopathology teaching and regional multidisciplinary clinics.


Responsibilities

* Provide general dermatology care including skin cancer clinics and minor surgery/daycase procedures.
* Support inpatients alongside Core trainees and participate in on-call duties as described above.
* Attend and assist with teaching of medical students at bedside and in seminars; help organise timetables and teaching sessions.
* Attend the weekly skin MDT and participate in regional clinics and dermatopathology teaching where available.


Qualifications and Requirements

* The post is non-training; applicants must be fully registered with the GMC.
* Encouraged to register for ePortfolio and undertake work-based assessment in line with those done by StRs; CESR route is supported.
* Visa and Immigration: sponsorship criteria may apply; check gov.uk for Certificate of Sponsorship eligibility.
* DBS check will be required if working with children or adults; cost may apply depending on salary level.
* UK Registration: current UK professional registration required where role demands it.
* Knowledge of NHS processes and travel/parking arrangements as applicable; please discuss at interview.

* DBS: disclosure and barring checks required where applicable.
* NHS Service: if appointed, previous NHS service will be established via ESR IAT; submitting your application may be taken as agreement.
* UK Registration: ensure current UK professional registration is held if required.
