Key Responsibilities
* Assist students with personal care tasks, such as toileting, feeding, and mobility
* Support students during lessons, helping them to engage with learning activities and stay on task
* Encourage students to develop their independence, self-esteem, and social skills
* Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
* Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Ability to communicate effectively with children, young people, and adults
* Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude
* Willingness to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of individual students
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
* Relevant qualifications, such as an NVQ or equivalent in a related field
* First Aid certification
* Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems used by students with SEND
