Deputy Manager Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the nursery manager daily and support the team.
* Support management as needed and make decisions in the manager's absence.
* Work as part of the nursery team, ensuring smooth daily operations.
* Follow all administrative procedures.
* Be a positive role model and demonstrate thorough knowledge of policies and procedures.
* Assist in staff training and manage staffing levels in the manager's absence.
* Attend management meetings and be flexible with shifts to cover staffing needs.
* Conduct fire checks, read meters, perform risk assessments, and maintain housekeeping standards.
* Ensure compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage and safeguard policies.
* Prepare for Ofsted inspections and implement recommendations to achieve at least a good rating.
Requirements
* Level 3 qualification in Childcare.
* Comprehensive understanding of Ofsted requirements.
* Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and working with children and families.
* Experience in partnership working with parents and external agencies.
* Experience as a room supervisor or deputy manager in a nursery setting.
* Enthusiastic, professional, and creative approach.
Experience
* At least 2 years in childcare (preferred).
Salary
From £13.80 per hour, negotiable depending on experience.
