The rehabilitation team comprises two Physiotherapists and one Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor (ERI), working collaboratively as an integral component of the multidisciplinary primary care team.

The Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC) is one of 18 Primary Care Rehabilitation Facilities in the Southwest West region, networked for peer support along with support from the regional headquarters staff in Plymouth.
The vacant post is part‑time, working 32 hours per week, which needs to include Thursdays and Friday (am). Requests to work flexibly and/or part‑time will be considered, taking into account business needs.

Main duties of the job
To ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculo‑skeletal/sports and training injury areas as well as being part of a multidisciplinary team providing rehabilitation to patients. The work will be primarily clinical but administrative and other professional activities will need to be undertaken as required.
Job responsibilities
* Perform highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries. Use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
* Maintain effective communication with all other rehabilitation and Unit personnel and with external medical personnel from other agencies/units.
* Develop and maintain your own personal, Service and Professional Standards at the highest attainable levels through continuing professional development activities and maintenance of a portfolio.
* Formulate, develop and deliver a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence‑based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
Person Specification
Experience
* Must have relevant experience in the assessment and treatment of Musculo‑skeletal disorders, sports injuries and orthopaedic conditions.
Qualifications
* Degree in Physiotherapy plus additional specialist training or experience to post‑graduate diploma level or equivalent.
Registrations and Memberships
* Memberships to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and the Health Professions Council (HCPC) are required.
* Provide registration number for membership in professional body.
Location: Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC), Dartmouth.
Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 a year per annum (pro rata for part time) – pay award pending.
