GSL Education are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality support to pupils in schools across Dronfield.
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work alongside teachers to support pupils’ learning and development. You will assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment, helping students with their academic tasks, social skills, and behavioural development. The role involves working both one-to-one and in small groups, preparing resources, and supporting pupils to achieve their learning goals.
To be a successful Teaching Assistant (TA), your responsibilities will be:
* Support class teachers in delivering lessons effectively.
* Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to pupils needing additional help.
* Assist with classroom management and encourage positive behaviour.
* Prepare and organise learning resources.
* Monitor and report on pupil progress.
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
* Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes when required.
* Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to meet pupil needs.
* Promote pupil independence and confidence in learning.
* Assist with school trips and extracurricular activities as needed.
Requirements for a Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working in UK schools or similar educational settings.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting pupils.
* CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable).
* A degree in Education, psychology or a similar field.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
