We are looking for an experienced Café Supervisor to oversee our Café employees and volunteers, who work as part of the wider team within our Community hub here in Jersey. Our Community Hub consists of a community café, charity shop, Pantry Store and meeting room facilities where groups and activities are held. We strive to be a safe place where all are welcome. Whilst providing food and drink to customers, our Café also offers free practical support, signposting, crisis support, pastoral care and friendship to anyone who visits the hub. We also provide free soup every day we are open. As the Café Supervisor you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our busy Café. Using your excellent communication skills and ability to relate to all, you will: Role model a high level of customer service through a positive, friendly and professional attitude Promote great teamwork with the Café team, organising stations to ensure the service runs effectively Work with the Community Centre Manager to plan menus, and carry out control stock/ordering Provide rewarding work placements for trainees and volunteers, who may have complex learning needs Alongside your experience of preparing and serving food and refreshments in a café or catering setting, you will also have: Good supervisory skills to ensure tasks are completed and standards maintained A current level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (or ability to attain) Up to date knowledge of food safety/health & safety in a catering setting You will also need the ability and willingness to work within and be empathic with the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army.
