Job Opportunity: Buyer
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join a leading retailer based within their North London office, with excellent hybrid options available.
Responsibilities:
1. Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
2. Sourcing suppliers & negotiating best cost prices
3. Analyzing sales figures to plan successful future lines
4. Reviewing levels of own brand stock & ensuring adequate levels are available while minimizing risk
5. Presenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management team
6. Dealing with and resolving escalated supplier queries
7. Analyzing market trends and competitor activity
8. Working with the own brand development team to ensure new products adhere to department business plans
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as Buyer / Junior Buyer / Buying Manager within a fast-paced retail environment; fresh food experience is preferred but not essential.
* Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
* Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced, ever-changing market
* Good level of education; a degree is preferable
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels
* Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects
* Excellent understanding of all MS Office products, including advanced Excel
