Controls Engineer
Automation & Special Purpose Machinery
An established engineering business specialising in automated and robotic systems is seeking an experienced Software & Commissioning Engineer to support the development, commissioning and optimisation of complex automation equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop PLC software and HMI systems for automated machinery
* Commission and test special purpose machines in-house and on-site
* Fault-find control, electrical and safety systems
* Program and integrate industrial robots (e.g. 6-axis, SCARA, Delta)
* Support installation, modifications and performance optimisation
* Provide operator training and technical support to customers
* Work collaboratively with internal engineering teams
Experience & Skills
1. Strong background in industrial control systems and automation
2. Experience with major PLC platforms (e.g. Siemens, Omron, Allen-Bradley)
3. Robot programming and system integration experience preferred
4. Good understanding of electrical schematics and pneumatics
5. Proven commissioning experience on automated machinery
6. Flexible approach to travel and working hours
