Our specialist child exploitation Emerald team is looking for a dedicated and qualified Social Worker to join them. Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, the Emerald team is closely integrated with the Youth Justice Service and our Stronger Families team, who deliver an edge of care offer.
Main duties of the job
1. Work with multi-agency partners to develop our contextual safeguarding approach, including our innovative risk outside the home (ROTH) child protection framework, in partnership with Durham University's research team.
2. Act as the primary worker with case responsibility for adolescent children in need and those requiring protection.
3. Conduct timely assessments of needs and risks, including Section 47 child protection enquiries, and collaborate with Police on investigations.
4. Possess extensive knowledge of child exploitation risks, indicators, disruption techniques, and experience working with young people at risk of entering the youth justice system.
5. Apply trauma-informed practices and case formulation approaches to support vulnerable young people.
