Clerical Officer/Receptionist

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic member of the administration team who is passionate about the delivery of a high quality service.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in administrative duties, good customer care skills, experience of dealing with enquiries either by telephone or face to face, have NVQ level 2 or equivalent level of experience in administration and office procedures as well as good typing/keyboard skills.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for ensuring the provision of an efficient clinical support service including Reception/Contact Centre service, undertaking the administrative duties associated with medical and nurse clinics and maintaining the medical records filing systems.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience
* NVQ Level II in Business Administration / Customer Service / IT
Experience
* Experience of working within an office environment
* Experience of working in a public facing role.
* Relevant experience within the NHS
Further Training
* Knowledge of / experience of using information and/or customer service systems.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word.
* Previous experience Infoflex / 59R Software
* Previous experience of PAS / Infoflex / SystmOne (area specific software)
Skills and Knowledge
* Understanding of Data protection issues and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Excellent communication skills, with ability to deal with staff at all levels.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages particularly Microsoft Excel
* Ability to deal with patients details in a caring and confidential manner
* Displays use of initiative with effective organisational skill
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
* On-going commitment to personal development
