About The Role
SLD Pumps & Power, part of Carrier, seeks an Apprentice Service Engineer in Paisley, Scotland. If you have a passion for mechanics, problem-solving, and working with power and pump equipment, this is your chance to learn from experienced professionals. You will receive training and mentorship to service, maintain, and repair industrial pumps and power generation equipment, working both in our workshop and on customer sites.
What You Will Be Doing
* Service, maintain, and repair pumps, generators, and diesel-powered equipment.
* Inspect, refurbish, and prepare equipment.
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
* Work with engines, motors, control panels, and pipework, learning from experienced engineers.
* Assist with installing and setting up equipment for customers.
* Use tools safely and correctly, building practical skills.
* Follow Health & Safety guidelines and keep the workshop organized.
* Assist with service reports and understand the paperwork involved.
* Handle fuels and lubricants following environmental best practices.

What We’re Looking For
* No prior experience required; passion for problem-solving and learning is key
* GCSEs in English, Maths, Science, and ICT or Engineering (Grade C/4 or above)
* Full UK driving license
