Senior Support Worker - Residential Care Home, Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team supporting vulnerable adults with a Learning disability and complex needs in Shirley, South Birmingham. You will play a pivotal role in providing leadership to a small team of support staff, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support for our service users. The successful Senior Support Worker will demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach and possesses strong leadership and team-building skills.
Responsibilities
Offer guidance, development and support to the staff team, acting as a mentor
A ssist the Management team in the day to day running of the home and supporting with administration as designated
Conduct one to one meetings with team members
Support new team members during induction and probationary period
Participate in assessing and planning to meet the service users needs
Take part in meetings with other professionals and family members
Provide hands-on, high-quality support and companionship to service users
Ensure the smooth running of the home in the absence of the registered manager
Hours: 42-hour week on a flexible shift system, which will include long days and on-call responsibilities.
Applicants must have achieved the Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship, a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, or an equivalent care qualification and be willing to work towards the Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship.

Due to the nature of the role, an enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this position.
