Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
The position involves working Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with a pro-rata salary for part-time hours.
We seek a creative, innovative, and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist confident in core skills to join the multidisciplinary community team for Alcohol & Drugs Recovery Services in Inverclyde. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, along with a collaborative clinical approach. Responsibilities include applying specialist occupational therapy skills within a recovery framework for individuals with alcohol or drug dependency. Key tasks involve enabling clients to self-manage their recovery through techniques such as functional assessments, structuring daily routines, vocational rehabilitation, and facilitating access to leisure, education, and employment through individual and group interventions. The role offers opportunities to collaborate with other health and social care professionals within the integrated ADRS, inpatient and day services, and partner agencies.
During induction, there will be opportunities to spend time with occupational therapy colleagues in Glasgow Addiction services. Engagement with the OT in Addictions Specialist Interest Group is encouraged. The post provides professional support and supervision from the Lead Occupational Therapist, access to training, and protected CPD time.
