About The Role
Altrad are currently looking for a HR Business Partner to join our team with travel across the North-West Area. Aligned to specific business units, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) works closely with their allocated partner teams to provide a comprehensive, professional and customer focused HR service covering a broad range of generalist and strategic activity.
Key Deliverables
* Meeting key stakeholders to discuss HR challenges and finding solutions.
* Consult with all management and provide daily HR guidance on all HR strategies, policies and practices.
* Bringing HR expertise and developing solutions to help the business area to deliver its strategy
* Influencing and building relationships with people around the business
* Acting as a local point of people expertise for specialist teams that are implementing new HR approaches
* Questioning and challenging others to get to the root of HR and business issues
* Coaching and providing feedback to key stakeholders to help improve business efficiency.
* Analyse trends and metrics within the HR Department
* Resolve complex employee relations issues
* Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
* Ensure compliance with company processes, policies and working practices in accordance with legislation and best practice.
* Ensure that HR processes remain fit for purpose and maximise the most efficient use of Human Resources
* Owner of HR issues as appropriate
* Performance appraisals
* Negotiation on Pay Arrangements
* Absence management
* Redundancy process
* Site advice and guidance within region
* Industrial relations advice/guidance
* Handling of discipline and grievance issues
* Provision of advice and guidance on remuneration issues
* Be proactive in facilitating organisational change
* Undertake HR Project work and research as directed
* Support the Head of HR in achieving their strategies.
* Communicating challenges and proposed resolutions with Sector Director and Business Unit Directors.
Qualifications and Experience
* Education to Degree level or equivalent
* CIPD qualified or equivalent
* 5+ years experience of broadly based Human Resource experience
* An in depth knowledge of UK employment law
* Experience of working in heavily unionised organisations and strong industrial relations experience is essential.
* Practical experience in managing complex discipline, grievance, tribunals and appeals
* A confident and experienced negotiator and communicator
* Confident, highly professional and have strong influencing, communication and team working skills
* Experience of people management
* Ability to work well under pressure
* Ability to demonstrate presence and credibility within the organisation
* Travel within the UK as required
* Well developed IT skills
