Job overview An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Resuscitation Service for a band 6 or 7 depending on experience. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered health care professional who is comfortable working independently and as part of a team. The Role is a cross-site and the successful candidate will be required to travel. Main duties of the job Supporting colleagues in the development of clinical skills relating to resuscitation. Teaching Resuscitation related skills and practices in a variety of settings to all staff groups. Promoting the importance of good clinical practice across Barts Health, acting as an education and training resource for staff, offering advice as well as expert practical input into the management of cardiac arrests and medical emergencies. Acting as a resource and link, assisting with expert advice to all areas of the Trust concerning resuscitation related directives, national initiatives and changes in policies and protocols. As a Resuscitation Officer/ Senior Resuscitation Officer, teaching forms a large component of the role, including being Course Instructor and Director on Resuscitation Council UK / ALSG regulated courses. Supporting colleagues in the development of clinical skills relating to Resuscitation. Supporting the implementation of robust policies and guidelines which will support all aspects of resuscitation practice within Barts Health NHS Trust Teaching Resuscitation related skills and practices in a variety of settings to all staff groups. The role also includes having a hospital site responsibility, to lead on projects and management of junior staff. The role includes maintaining clinical skills by attending clinical emergencies, involvement in clinical audit and organisation of emergency equipment throughout the Trust. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Registered Health Care Professional Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent ALS/APLS/EPALS/NLS instructor/or Instructor Potential Desirable criteria ALS/APLS/EPALS/NLS course director GIC Instructor /Director Educated to degree level or above or working towards Experience Essential criteria Clinical experience of autonomous practice in an acute care setting with a wide-ranging experience in resuscitation Evidence of on-going professional and personal development Desirable criteria Experience of working as a resuscitation officer Skills Essential criteria Demonstrates experience of managing change Demonstrates sound knowledge of current, local, National Health Service and resuscitation priorities Experience of participating in clinical governance issues Proficient IT and presentation skills using MS Office applications Experience of participation in audit and/or research Confident practical resuscitation skills Flexible and adaptable to service needs Other Essential criteria Evidence of successful team working Able to work collaboratively with other disciplines Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills Will be expected to work across all sites in organisation Visa Sponsorship Information This role is subject to UK immigration requirements.
