New Directions is recruiting Primary Teachers in the Newport and Torfaen area for daily/long-term cover within nursery and reception classes. This role is suitable for both NQT’s and experienced teachers.
We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Teacher to create engaging learning environments that help children reach developmental milestones through artistic expression, educational play, and storytelling, while also teaching foundational life skills and preparing them for further education.
Responsibilities include:
1. Creating differentiated learning resources tailored to pupils' needs.
2. Planning lessons with organized, pre-prepared information to facilitate student participation.
3. Maintaining a positive, orderly classroom environment, managing behaviour, ensuring safety, and promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
4. Assessing student progress through marking, monitoring, and providing feedback, using effective assessment strategies.
5. Utilizing technology such as interactive whiteboards, online resources, and educational apps confidently.
6. Staying updated with curriculum changes and developments.
7. Participating in school events and activities, which may occur during weekends or evenings.
8. Collaborating with colleagues and working flexibly, especially in smaller schools.
9. Engaging in CPD opportunities, including webinars and seminars during half-term, covering topics like Team Teach, Welsh language, BSL, assessment, mindfulness, and wellbeing.
