Offer description

Bassingbourn Village College is looking to appoint a highly organised and enthusiastic PA & Comms Officer to join our outstanding community.

If you are somebody who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is a natural communicator, and can juggle priorities with professionalism, we would love to hear from you

The core of this role is high-level PA support — managing the Principal's diary, coordinating meetings, handling confidential correspondence, and navigating multiple tasks and priorities. You'll play a key role in keeping the school running smoothly, working at the centre of a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

While the primary focus is administrative, the role also includes communications and marketing tasks — such as updating social media, and supporting internal communications.

This is a great opportunity to work for a school within a small community where everybody plays an important role in fostering a welcoming and encouraging environment for students and staff to thrive.

Bassingbourn Village College is an excellent school set in South Cambridgeshire. We are very proud of our school and the educational opportunities that it provides for our wonderful students. Our exam results are excellent, placing Bassingbourn Village College consistently amongst the top performing state schools in Cambridgeshire and well above the national average.

We are also one of the founding members of Anglian Learning, a multi academy trust formed of four highly successful Cambridgeshire secondary schools. Anglian Learning provides inclusive education and equal opportunities, celebrating our differences and supporting learners of all abilities and backgrounds. Our academies consist of 10 primary, 6 secondary schools and 2 sixth forms, each retaining their unique identity and ethos. We value a culture of supportive, respectful relationships. Our people are empowered to embrace new ideas and think creatively as we Transform Together.

The successful candidate will:

* Have experience providing high-level administrative support to senior leaders, including diary management, meeting coordination and handling confidential information, preferably in a school or similarly busy environment;
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills enabling effective liaison with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff, pupils, parents; governors, the local community and external organisations;
* Have experience or confidence with social media and school communications;
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children;
* Have an interest in education

For further information about the role requirements, our Trust and school, please see the attached documentation.

Employee Benefits:

• Generous Pension Scheme (LGPS or Teachers' Pension Scheme depending on the role)

• Cycle to Work Salary Sacrifice Scheme

• Free membership to Anglian Learning Sports Centres

• 20 percent discount on Anglian Learning Adult Education Courses

• Professional Development Scheme Policy

• Employee Assistance Programme

• Specsavers VDU Vouchers

• Boots Flu Vouchers

• Perkbox – access a range of discounts in-store and online at nationwide shops.

Flexible working, including part-time hours and job shares, will be considered for all Anglian Learning roles with the exception of where this is not compatible with the business needs. Should you be interested in flexible working for this vacancy, please indicate this on your application.

*Please note applications will be assessed upon receipt and we reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date*

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks. Therefore, all posts within the Trust are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. The Trust welcomes applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, age or sexual orientation.
