Shift Lead – Data Centre (Docklands Area, London)

Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Lead to join a data centre environment in the Docklands area. The role involves overseeing shift engineers, ensuring smooth site operations, and maintaining critical infrastructure to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operational Support
* Act as the first point of contact for engineers requiring technical support.
* Receive and complete PPM tasks via the site’s maintenance management system.
* Carry out diagnostic analysis and fault-finding across critical systems.
* Perform visual inspections and submit reports on equipment condition or reliability concerns.
* Complete all electronic and paper-based records, ensuring accurate and compliant logbook documentation.
Maintenance & Site Standards
* Ensure maintenance consumables are stocked and replenished to agreed levels.
* Execute general maintenance, housekeeping and plant room cleaning to maximise equipment life.
* Respond promptly to client requests and support emergency call-outs when required.
* Monitor and report on the performance of subcontractors when applicable.
* Maintain plant areas to a clean and tidy standard at all times.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across site operations.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Follow all Health & Safety safe working procedures and environmental requirements.
* Report hazards, omissions, or risks that could impact safe working conditions.
* Support compliance across all site processes and documentation.
Additional Duties
* Assist with breakdowns and corrective works as required.
* Undertake any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Contract Manager.
Hours of Work
* 12-hour shifts
* Continental shift pattern (days & nights)

Required Qualifications & Experience
* Electrical qualifications (Level 3)
* 18th Edition
* HV Authorised Person (HVAP) qualification
* Experience working in a data centre environment
