Overview
NEOS Engineering are seeking a skilled and reliable Plant Mechanic to join our client’s team in Bury. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy plant and machinery used within the waste and recycling industry, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
* Carry out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on mobile and static plant, including loading shovels, material handlers, screeners, and shredders.
* Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
* Undertake preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
* Work on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
* Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company and industry standards.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Plant Mechanic / Plant Fitter working on heavy machinery.
* Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
* Ability to fault-find and resolve issues independently.
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
* Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualifications (preferred, but not essential for the right experience).
