Overview
This role will provide support to the QHSE Manager to ensure our products meet our customers' quality expectations and that the product is built in a safe and controlled manner.
Responsibilities
The role will provide support to the QHSE Manager to ensure our products meet our customers Quality expectations and that the product is built in a safe and controlled manner. The role will also manage the day-to-day QHSE activities assigned to them to ensure they meet the business objectives and targets.
A large part of the role is to ensure compliance with SMD quality and H&S policies and support the QHSE manager in ensuring successful audits for ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Responsibilities include managing and reporting NCRs and conducting quality investigations, as well as conducting internal audits.
The QHSE team provides sound advice and guidance to the business and makes improvement recommendations.
What skills and qualifications do I need?
This person should have a technical qualification in Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience. The ability to interpret technical drawings is essential, as well as a good knowledge of quality systems and procedures. You will be NEBOSH Certificate qualified or equivalent.
This role may require work across multiple sites, so driving is likely and a valid driving licence is required.
Interpersonal skills include strong problem-solving abilities using various techniques. This is a team role; you must be able to work as part of a team but also use your own initiative. The role is busy and varied, so prioritisation and good time management are essential.
There may be travel (UK and abroad), so flexibility is essential.
