Your work will vary between working on large and small private gardens at private properties, green spaces around buildings, small commercial properties and public parks. You will be required to be professional – representing the company in public, work to a high standard, have friendly approach toward customers and colleagues, a willingness to provide an outstanding service to our customers.
This is a very physical role.
The main duties include but are not limited to:
· Weeding and maintenance of borders
· Pruning shrubs
· Checking the health of plants by identifying any pests or diseases and controlling them
· Soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, bed, preparation and planting
· Speaking with Customers to ensure work required is carried out
· Working as part of a team
You will be responsible for:
· Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
· Safe use of hand tools and basic light machinery
· Safe use of strimmer's, leaf blowers and hedge trimmers
· To ensure all equipment, machinery and buildings/gardens are secure.
· Basic maintenance of tools including fuel, repairs etc.
Skills:
· Strong knowledge of power tools used in gardening
· Experience in basic landscape maintenance techniques
· Proficiency in using hand tools for various gardening tasks
· Passion for gardening and a good understanding of different plant species
· Knowledge of proper watering techniques for different types of plants
· Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
Uniform and tools provided. A good knowledge of gardening/lawns is essential; however, training will be provided in areas not familiar
Experience:
· Gardening: 3 years+ (essential)
· Experience in using various gardening tools
knowledge of plants
Licence/Certification:
· Driving Licence (essential due to multiple site visits)
Own Vehicle essential
Own tools required, although some tools can be provided.
· Industry based qualifications (Desired)

Summary
As a Sub Contractor - Gardener, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces through your expertise in gardening and horticulture. A valid driving license is required as you will travel to various sites.
