This is a fantastic entry- level opportunity for someone with a hands-on, practical mindset and a desire to build a long- term career in manufacturing. The role focuses on supporting product changeovers – helping prepare machinery, raw materials, and tools- while learning the technical aspects of machine setup and adjustment. You’ll be part of a structured training programme, guided by experienced technicians, and supported as you progress toward a fully trained Technician Support role. Key Responsibilities Training & Development Take part in a structured programme covering machinery, changeovers, raw materials, and safety Learn to identify and implement best practices under the guidance of senior technical team members. Receive coaching and mentoring in the setup, adjustment, and maintenance of technical change parts and manufacturing equipment. Changeover Support Assist with preparing for product changeovers by ensuring raw materials and tools are available. Support technical staff during changeover operations by observing, recording, and participating in tasks as instructed. Document procedures and technical settings during changeovers to support consistency and learning. Operational Learning Understand the fundamentals of machine recipes, material types, and changeover routines. Learn to inspect, clean, and prepare technical parts to ensure readiness for future use. Participate in housekeeping and maintenance tasks to maintain high operational standards. Continuous Improvement Work alongside experienced team members to identify areas for improvement in changeover efficiency and equipment performance. Take part in improvement initiatives and share observations or suggestions for process enhancements. Safety & Conduct Follow all health and safety procedures, working under supervision as required. Maintain a professional and proactive approach to training and development. Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to learning by asking questions, seeking feedback, and applying knowledge gained. About You We're looking for someone who is: Keen to learn and a practical, hands-on mindset Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious Good with hands-on tasks and practical problem-solving Observant and eager to ask questions and apply feedback Good with basic numeracy and literacy skills It’s a bonus (but not essential) if you have: Experience using hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, Allen keys) A basic understanding of machine drawings or measurements An FLT licence Any prior experience in manufacturing or production environments What’s in it for you Competitive pay - Start your journey with us at £28,000 per annum, 34 days paid leave, inclusive of bank holidays.
