About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the Waitrose quality produce and Partner-led service to our customers’ doors. You will represent the ethos of passionate Partners serving food lovers. When not delivering, you’ll support the shop with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping to help the shop run efficiently and in a friendly, welcoming team.
Note: You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Check your delivery routes for the day.
* Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together for efficient delivery to customers.
* Complete appropriate vehicle safety checks, maintain road compliance, and follow health and safety requirements.
* Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand with a focus on excellent customer service.
* Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience you’ll need
* Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Great customer service skills.
* Strong time management skills.
* Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g. lifting crates, moving cages).
* Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and adaptable.
* IT literacy.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles is welcome.
16 hours of part-time work over seven days to include early shifts, late shifts and weekend shifts. The schedule includes Monday and Thursday 14:15-22:00, Sunday 08:15-17:00, and Tuesday 08:45-17:00.
