About the opportunity
As the Senior Administration Officer, you will provide comprehensive administrative support for the Learning and Teaching Strategy team. This includes delivering secretariat services for governance committees and engagement forums, managing diaries for senior stakeholders, and ensuring efficient workflows. You will utilise your extensive experience to resolve complex queries, provide sound advice on policies and procedures, and contribute to process improvements.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* manage general administrative services and operational support for the work area
* provide secretariat support, including agenda preparation and minute-taking for committees and forums
* coordinate meetings and events, including logistics, travel, and accommodation arrangements
* oversee record-keeping, finance support, and reporting, ensuring compliance with University policies
* liaise with HR on staffing matters, including recruitment coordination and contract renewals
* review and improve administrative processes to enhance efficiency
* undertake ad-hoc projects and contribute to strategic and operational planning.
About you
* tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience
* extensive administrative experience within a tertiary organisation and knowledge of the higher education sector
* proven experience providing secretariat support to senior-level committees
* advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management
* strong financial literacy and experience managing budgets
* excellent communication skills and ability to handle complex enquiries with tact and diplomacy
* strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and ability to prioritise workloads during busy periods
* well-developed negotiation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
