Salary: Up to £42,950 dependent on skills and experience.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Ensure that all aspects of Welder approvals and Welding procedures are up to date and correctly maintained.
2. Interpret standards and specifications related to welding and associated processes.
3. Resolve shop floor and production welding-related problems.
4. Support continuous improvement practices within the welding processes.
5. Advise Operations on the optimal welding processes to meet safety, quality, and cost performance targets.
6. Collaborate with colleagues across the UK, Australia, and Canada to share best practices and learnings across various programs.
Your skills and experiences:
* High level of welding process awareness with practical skills across most welding processes, equipment, and techniques.
* Industry-recognized qualification in welding technology or willingness to work towards one.
* Good knowledge of welding processes in shipbuilding, manufacturing, or similar heavy engineering environments.
* Ability to understand weld inspection and NDE techniques.

The BAE Systems Welding Engineering Team:
The team ensures compliance with standards and drives improvements in welding processes. With recent investments in robotic welding systems, the team of 5 engineers is expanding to support the Clyde shipbuilding programs.
