Are you ready to drive the future of fleet management? GXO has engineered this role for you! We are currently seeking a forward‑thinking, driven individual for the Head of Fleet at our Currys site in Newark. In this role you will provide strategic oversight of the contracts fleet programmes, including a comprehensive fleet replacement strategy for around 50 tractor units and 250 trailers over the next 5‑10 years. Working alongside the Currys, GXO central fleet team and other stakeholders, ensuring the current and future needs of the business are met will be key to long‑term success.
The role is full‑time and permanent, on a 5‑day‑a‑week contract between core hours 06:00 and 18:00. Flexibility is essential.

* Typical day responsibilities:
o Produce a detailed fleet replacement programme, including routes to market to finance the programme and considering the current and future needs of our customers.
o Evaluate policies and procedures to ensure value for money from service agents and balance cost and service.
o Lead key fleet initiatives, including potential EV introduction and other alternative fuel options.
o Be accountable for vendor performance, addressing issues and complaints promptly and conclusively.
* Requirements:
o Experience working with 3PLs and HGV maintenance providers.
o Both technical and managerial experience in HGV vehicle maintenance, compliance and legislation.
o Strong commercial and financial acumen, ability to work on multiple gain‑share projects.
o Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills; experience managing fleet budgets and replacement programmes.
o Level 3 City & Guilds mechanical qualification and CPC holder desirable.
