Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. This role involves accurately dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and supporting pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in pharmacy settings and a strong commitment to patient safety and confidentiality. This role is for someone with proven experience in working in a busy 15,000+ item dispensary with precision and speed.
Duties
* Prepare and dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols
* Assist pharmacists with medication administration and patient consultations
* Maintain organised records of dispensed medications and patient information
* Ensure compliance with legal and safety standards related to medication handling
* Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient queries professionally and courteously
* Support inventory management, including stock checks and ordering supplies as needed
* clean and organise dispensary, shelves and counters.
* Assist with stock rotation and expiry checks.
* Adhere to confidentiality policies regarding patient information at all times
* Assist in the education of patients on medication usage, side effects, and storage instructions
Skills
* Proven experience as a pharmacy technician or dispenser within a healthcare environment
* Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors
* Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy
* Commitment to patient care, confidentiality, and safety standards
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy pharmacy setting
