About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver instrumentation and monitoring (I&M) projects across the UK. The role will be primarily focused on supporting major infrastructure projects, working both independently and in close collaboration with the wider UBY team. You will be based in London with travel or mobility depending on project requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of multiple geo-structural and environmental monitoring projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with UBY’s Operations Manager and the broader UK team, liaising with client site teams and subcontractors to ensure smooth and safe project delivery.
* Manage and control project-wide I&M reporting, ensuring all outputs meet the required quality standards.
* Maintain a strong client focus, fully understanding client priorities and integrating them into project planning to consistently meet reporting requirements.
* Resolve day-to-day operational issues, escalating only business-critical matters to the UBY Operations Manager.
* Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to gross margin targets, strict cost control, and all agreed commercial and financial metrics.
* Establish, maintain, and continuously improve project procedures and workflows.
* Identify issues proactively and ensure timely, controlled resolution.
* Supervise and manage teams—including drilling rigs—when required.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, such as Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation and monitoring on major civil or geotechnical projects.
* Strong understanding of monitoring principles, methods, and sensor technologies.
* Demonstrated ability to manage large or complex monitoring projects from design through to delivery.
* Proficiency with data acquisition systems and data visualisation tools.
* Excellent reporting abilities, strong communication skills, and confidence in client liaison.
