Role OverviewThe Network Management Streetworks Coordinator will support the Deputy Head of Network Management in the application and enforcement of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA), as amended by the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA), alongside the Richmond and Wandsworth Permit Schemes.The postholder will assess and inspect street works and utility-related activities across the boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and the Council's Network Management Duty, with particular attention to SRN and TLRN routes.The role also involves helping to develop and operate effective processes and systems to coordinate planned network activities across all utility projects.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess and inspect street works for compliance with NRSWA and permit scheme requirementsMonitor the impact of utility works on the local road network, including SRN/TLRN routesCarry out site inspections in line with the Red Book and reinstatement inspections in accordance with the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SORH)Ensure works on the highway comply with health and safety legislationSupport the coordination of planned works to minimise disruption across the networkWork collaboratively with internal teams, utility companies, contractors, and external stakeholdersKnowledge & SkillsHigh-level knowledge and practical experience of New Roads and Street Works Act 1991Strong understanding of street works inspections and reinstatement complianceDetailed knowledge of relevant legislation, including:Traffic Management Act 2004Highways Act 1980NRSWA 1991Understanding of local government and contract managementKnowledge of health and safety legislation relating to highway worksExperienceDelivering a high standard of customer serviceDeveloping effective internal and external partnering arrangementsManaging and coordinating road works and street worksStrong analytical and interpretation skillsExperience with systems and processes used in network management environmentsGood negotiation and consultation skillsAbility to work within a political and public sector contextExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interpret complex numerical and written informationStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlinesProven ability to deal effectively with conflictQualificationsNew Roads and Street Works qualification (essential)Full UK driving licence (essential)Apply Now:If you have the skills and experience required for this role, we encourage you to apply.
