The purpose of this post is to work effectively with the class teacher(s) to support play-based, child-centred pedagogy within primary.

Sound Primary School is a non-denominational school located in the Sound area of Lerwick, providing education from nursery to Primary 7. The school has 1 nursery session per day and 11 primary classes, with 22 teachers including Class teachers, Nursery teacher, Support for Learning Teachers, and Specialist Teachers. Our staffing also includes Nursery staff, clerical staff, support staff, supervisors, auxiliaries, crossing patrol assistants, and a janitor. * The grade of this post is F.
* The pay rate includes Distant Islands Allowance of £1.4808 per hour.
* This is a temporary part-time post for 20 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, plus 6.24 weeks (pro rata) paid holiday during school holidays. Contract until 15/02/2026.
* Preferred candidates must join or update the PVG Scheme prior to employment.
* No relocation package is available.
* Interview expenses will be paid from within Shetland.
* Flexible working options are available.
