Position
Surgical First Assistant at University Hospital Ayr
What You Will Do
* Assist in surgery within a fast‑paced, dynamic six‑theatre department covering elective orthopaedics, urology, general and bariatric surgery.
* When not required to assist in surgery, carry out duties in line with the Deputy Charge Nurse role.
* Collaborate with a caring, safe and respectful team.
Qualifications and Experience
* First‑level registration with the NMC/HCPC (or working towards/educated to degree level) and evidence of post‑registration development.
* Completed SFA course parts 1 & 2 is desirable; candidates without it will be considered with an expectation to complete within 18 months.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain exceptional high standards of care.
Hours
37 per week – 4 × 08:00‑18:00 shifts per week.
