School Crossing Patrol - Perryfields Infant and Perryfields Junior
Type: Permanent, Part Time
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Working Style:
Support your local community by joining Essex County Council’s School Crossing Patrol Team at Perryfields County Infant School, Lawn Lane, Chelmsford CM1 7PP. You will support schools by supervising crossings in the morning and afternoon, ensuring pedestrian safety.
This role is approximately 7.5 hours per week, with holiday pay included. You need to be available during the 39 weeks of the academic year, working about 45 minutes in the morning (08:00 - 09:00) and 45 minutes in the afternoon (14:45 - 15:45), depending on site requirements. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians.
* Maintain contact with the schools served by the crossing.
* Assess risks regularly and report issues to your supervisor.
* Assist in reports on accidents or incidents at the crossing.
* Maintain uniform and equipment in good condition and request replacements when needed.
* Signal clearly to drivers to stop traffic and ensure pedestrians cross safely.
