GPW Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading engineering client based in Grimsby to appoint an Electrically Biased Contracts Engineer on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in the management and delivery of multiple industrial E&I construction and maintenance projects, from cost estimation to final handover. The role offers hybrid working, a competitive salary and a generous benefits package.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for the successful execution of multiple electrically biased industrial projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This role is ideally suited to someone with hands-on industrial electrical experience and a strong background in project/contract management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage multiple industrial E&I projects simultaneously
* Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and scopes
* Perform cost estimation for electrically biased projects
* Oversee all aspects of project delivery including cost control, procurement, risk, and variation management
* Attend site visits for estimating, project oversight, and maintaining client relationships
* Lead and coordinate site teams to achieve high-standard project delivery
* Promote and enforce health & safety practices across all sites
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
Essential Requirements:
* HND/HNC qualification or fully qualified electrician with relevant experience
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Contract / Project Management role
* Hands-on industrial electrical engineering experience
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
* Able to prioritise and manage workloads across multiple projects
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (including occasional overseas visits)
Desirable Qualifications & Skills:
* Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM)
* CompEx Ex01–Ex04 or Ex12
* NEBOSH certification
* CAD experience
Package & Benefits:
* £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
* £6,000 annual car allowance (paid monthly)
