Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance within their homes. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly seniors and those with disabilities. Home Care Workers will be responsible for delivering personalised care, ensuring safety, and promoting independence while adhering to the highest standards of patient care.
Duties
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients' health conditions.
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements.
* Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Support clients with Alzheimer's and dementia care by employing behaviour management techniques.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
* Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Assisted living or nursing home experience.
* Patient care within a home care setting.
* Experience in hospice care or senior care environments.
* Knowledge of first aid practices and medication administration protocols.
* Previous caregiving experience, particularly with individuals requiring specialised support such as Alzheimer's or dementia care. Ideal applicants will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a commitment to providing high-quality care while being able to manage the physical demands of the role effectively.
