Location: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.
Job description:
The post holder will type pathology and post‑mortem reports, handle telephone enquiries for consultants and associated clinical staff, book andrology appointments by phone, take minutes at department meetings in the absence of the Deputy Office Manager, and send blocks and slides to other laboratories for opinion or as part of a clinical trial. This role is based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and does not allow home working due to the nature of tasks and systems used.
Responsibilities
* Type pathology and post‑mortem reports.
* Deal with telephone enquiries for consultants and/or associated clinical staff.
* Book andrology appointments over the phone.
* Take minutes at department meetings when the Deputy Office Manager is absent.
* Send blocks and slides to other laboratories for opinion or clinical trials.
Qualifications
* HNC in Secretarial Studies / Business Administration or equivalent demonstrable knowledge.
* Advanced keyboard skills, audio‑typing experience, and knowledge of medical terminology.
* Experience of minute‑taking.
