Graduate Traffic Engineer (St. Albans) - 2026
Join AECOM as a Graduate Traffic Engineer working on traffic safety, design and management projects across the UK & Ireland.
Job Responsibilities
* Assist in developing road & street designs through all stages of the project lifecycle.
* Support cycle lane, bus priority, BRT and streetscape improvement design.
* Conduct traffic modelling using LINSIG, TRANSYT, VISSIM and other industry tools.
* Prepare traffic management plans, signal, and signage design solutions.
* Attend meetings and workshops with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
* Progress from support duties to leading project elements with mentor guidance.
Qualifications
* BEng in Civil Engineering, General Engineering, or BA/BSc Geography – 2:1 or above.
* MEng in Civil Engineering or General Engineering – 2:1 or above; MA/MSc Geography or MSc Transport Planning advantageous.
* Strong communication, report‑writing and prioritisation skills.
* Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, AutoCAD/Civil 3D and BIM modelling.
* Hard‑working, technically proficient, ambitious, able to prioritise work and work independently.
* Right to work in the UK.
