Job Opportunity: Chemistry Technician
Element Cambridge is seeking a Chemistry Technician to perform testing, sample preparation, and report generation. Our state-of-the-art facility specializes in corrosion testing, chemistry, mechanical testing, hydrogen embrittlement, stress rupture testing, metallurgical, and failure analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze water (physical, chemical, microbiological), ores, minerals, soil, aggregates, concrete, and scale samples.
2. Operate laboratory equipment such as pH/EC/TDS meters, UV-visible spectrophotometers, ovens, furnaces, incubators, and fusion machines.
3. Prepare reagents and standard solutions, ensuring proper standardization.
4. Handle and store chemicals following MSDS guidelines.
5. Calibrate glassware and instruments regularly.
6. Conduct qualitative and quantitative tests according to standard methods.
7. Issue reports, manage sample receipt and dispatch, and participate in site testing adhering to international standards and ISO 17025 requirements.
8. Coordinate with team members and ensure compliance with safety standards.
9. Engage in manual sample handling, equipment maintenance, and client interactions during witnessed testing.
10. Generate test reports, ensure quality standards, and conduct sample collection at customer sites.
11. Assist in other activities as directed by the department manager.
Qualifications:
* Diploma or degree in chemistry with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
* Ability to work under pressure, flexible to shifts (day/night), and team-oriented.
* Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) and good math skills.
* Knowledge of safe operation of testing equipment and laboratory procedures.
