Learning Support Assistant – Outstanding Secondary School
Location: Barnet, North London
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only)
Pay: £90–£110 per day (dependent on experience)

Protocol Education is working in partnership with an OFSTED-rated Outstanding secondary school to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their supportive Inclusion Team from January 2026.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a mainstream classroom setting. Working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff, you will help ensure pupils can fully access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Providing 1:1 and small group support in literacy, numeracy, and social development

2. Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

3. Adapting learning materials to meet individual needs

4. Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and independence

5. Acting as a positive role model and mentor to students

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a proactive and compassionate individual who is committed to inclusive education.

10. Experience: Previous experience with children or young people ( youth work, tutoring, coaching, care, or education) is highly desirable

11. Qualifications: A degree or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is beneficial but not essential

12. Skills: Strong communication skills with a good standard of English and Maths

13. Attributes: Patient, resilient, adaptable, and enthusiastic
